By
the command of the Vajra Guru Karmapa,
you spread the sound of the sacred
drum
to the land where the untamed
roam.
Surrounded
by dakinis
more numerous than the sands of the Ganges River,
The sun showed its face on the
day
the Supreme one of Surmang
arrived.
A teacher to some, a friend
to others,
the skillful ways of your
brilliant mind
are unmatched in all existence.
The elixir of the gods has
a fine taste,
but your beauty and mastery
of the dharma cannot be matched
by any other in the human
race.
Your name echoes, resounding
unceasingly
as long as we last
in this land where
Shambhala was born.
The dharma is here
It is here because of you.
Your activity shall remain
in the hearts of us all,
for many years.
Like a stone that cannot
fall.
