The Bodhisattva Ratnamati, an emanation of Manjusri the Bodhisattva of Wisdom, and the Bodhisattva Sukhanatha, an emanation of Avalokitesvara the Bodhisattva of Compassion, are also beyond historical bounds like the Buddha Dorje Chang. They appear to highly realized practitioners in order to instruct them on the path. They are the sambhogakaya of enlightenment. In this manner, they were instrumental in teaching the founding fathers of the Kagyu lineage.
