I personally had an opportunity to visit this holy seat of Mahasiddha Tilopa now known as Tilokpur (in the Kangra valley, in Himachal Pradesh State of India) on 10/5/00 and the Karma Drubgyu Thargay Ling Nunnery located there.

I have noticed that the nuns there were many but the temple and the surrounding space too small. Since the existing temple has been visited and blessed by many great lamas such as His Holiness the Dalai Lama, His Holiness the 16th Karmapa Rangjung Rigpe Dorje and others, the nuns preferred not to rebuild or extend upon it. They have purchased a plot in the nearby locale and have planned to build a larger assembly hall, a library, a kitchen, a storehouse, and nuns cells (living quarters). The courage and devotion of these nuns in planning such a project has been a source of appreciation for me.

In order to raise funds for this project, they are undertaking a donation campaign. Any amount of donation is highly appreciated. Giving for the cause of Dharma, collectively or individually, is a great source of accumulating merits, so says our sutras and tantras. I assure all the donors that their donations will be utilized for the said purpose without any misuse.

The nuns at Tilokpur, Karma Drubgyu Thargay Ling Nunnery are facing a shortage of accomodation due to the increasing number of new resident nuns. The existing temple is too small to accomodate all the nuns during assemblies. It cannot be rebuilt or extended upon as it has already been blessed by several great masters such as His Holiness the Dalai Lama and His Holiness the XVIth Karmapa as well as His Holiness the XVIIth Karmapa.

The nuns have purchased a new plot in the nearby locale and are now planning to build a larger assembly hall with accomodation for the nuns and a kitchen with a storehouse attached to it. In order to raise funds for this project, they are requesting donations from devotees and supporters.

Any amount of donation for this project is highly appreciated. Giving for the cause of Dharma is a powerful source of accumulating merits and it is worth participating in this mission.
