Upon the highest seat,
with the grace of a swan and
the lion’s fearless roar,
Karmapa proclaims the doctrine
of the Victorious Ones.

Even when white flakes flutter down covering the land,
You stand out as most pristine.

The diamond is said to be indestructible
while the thunderbolt cuts through most powerfully,
But the Black Vajra Crown
floating above your head,
which as accumulated the attributes
of all the Enlightened Ones,
is most illustrious.

Master of the Activity of the Glorious Conquerors,
Holder of the precious parasol of the golden rosary,
Essence of the Lord of Compassion, and
Seventeenth incarnation of the Knower of the Three Times:

Just as the Sun’s light dispels darkness,
You shine throughout the world.

If placed in the night sky outshining all the stars,
You would make the night seem so bright,
that no one could ever again distinguish it from dawn.

May Karmapa’s birth date in which the universe quaked in all directions, and flowers sprang up, the cuckoo sang,
the white one let out its miraculous, far-reaching sound
while three suns glistened in the sky,
Be celebrated for countless ages to come!
